Cool Gmu 85 Colorado Elk References. I am looking for some general information on elk in colorado unit 85. At this time no individual gmu maps are available for purchase.
I have been hunting in unit 55 above crested butte but the elk. Be sure to check out the elk leftover tags or the otc tags if you're looking to build points, but still want to hunt. The selected gmu hunt unit or game management unit boundary is layered with blm.

Try near tercio and stonewall for elk in this unit, but be warned it's almost all private land. There is a 2:1 ratio with guides and hunters. I am in decent shape, although i want to loose.

A half a mile from our boundary is the wolf springs ranch which requires 19 preference points to draw. This was not quite as simple as figuring out the slope within each gmu. Colorado elk concentrations & corridors.
